Frequently asked questions
How can I buy a bike pass?
We offer several ways to purchase bike passes. The easiest and most convenient way is through our new e-shop. If you don’t have a chip card, simply select the “Voucher” option for your chosen tariff. You can download the voucher (and it will also be sent to your email), and at self-service kiosks, the pick-up box will issue your purchased pass when you scan the QR code.
Our self-service kiosks work similarly: after selecting and paying for your tariff, a receipt with a QR code is printed, which you can scan at the pick-up box to receive your pass.
Traditional ticket offices remain available, including cash payments. Hotel guests can purchase passes directly at the hotel reception.
Do I still need a physical chip card to buy a bike pass online?
With our new system, you no longer need a chip card at the time of purchase. You can collect it upon arrival at the ski area from the pick-up box by presenting your QR code – the process takes only a few seconds. The e-shop sends a confirmation email with the QR code, which you can keep on your phone or print out. You can keep the card for future purchases or return it for a deposit refund.
Why register on the e-shop if prices are the same for non-registered users?
Registered users will benefit from loyalty bonuses and special offers. We are just starting this system, but registration and loyalty rewards will be worthwhile.
How does the mobile system that doesn’t require a chip card work? What if my phone runs out of battery during riding?
This is the world’s first installation of this innovative technology. Simply put, you can purchase and load a virtual bike pass directly onto your smartphone. The phone will identify itself as the bike pass at the turnstile via Bluetooth, without needing to activate it or take it out of your pocket, with minimal battery impact. Most users already have Bluetooth on for other devices (headphones, car hands-free, etc.).
If your phone battery runs out, you can recharge it at the ticket office or rental shop, and we can generate a classic chip card via QR code as a backup. This option is available even before your battery runs low.
Press Release 9.12.2022:
“Next week, the winter season opens at Ski Areál Kopřivná in Malá Morávka, featuring another significant technological innovation.”
The first skiers will be welcomed on 16.12. for evening skiing on our heated six-seat chairlift with bubble covers, enjoying pre-Christmas pricing. “We’ve prepared technological features this year that we can’t wait to show our visitors. Even a sevenfold increase in snowmaking costs won’t spoil the excitement for the start of a great season, as long as no one tries to regulate us again,” says resort director Karel Ležatka, recalling the difficult COVID times.
Despite rising energy costs causing many ski areas to remain closed, Kopřivná’s management is optimistic. “Economically strong and technologically advanced resorts must continue offering top-notch services at reasonable prices to retain visitors, or risk losing their market position. While the number of active skiers may slightly drop, larger resorts will compete with quality and price – and we’re fully prepared for that,” says Libor Petrů, head of Ski Areál Kopřivná.
This year, pricing and communication with visitors are more important than ever. We prepared an ambitious price list, offering no real increase compared to last year, and early online purchases can be significantly cheaper than buying at the ticket office. Family passes and other online-exclusive tariffs make skiing more accessible even in these challenging times.
The biggest innovation this year is a new ticketing system from AXESS, a global technological leader. Advanced flap turnstiles, e-shop and self-service kiosks, and special pick-up boxes for online passes are now installed at Kopřivná. The world premiere of a revolutionary system that requires no chip card at all will debut this season – the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
We have also upgraded services: expanded rental and service for skis, snowboards, and winter equipment, enhanced evening lighting, improved snowmaking, and cozy gastro areas. Investments in winter preparation totaled approximately 20 million CZK.
Operating hours:
16.12.2022: Evening skiing begins, continuing daily throughout the season.
From 17.12.2022: 8:30–16:00, evening skiing 18:00–21:00.
24–25.12.2022: Closed.
Full daily operation from 26.12.2022: 8:30–16:00 / 18:00–21:00.
